[VIDEO] and the relatives – Hammer Down

Nashville’s and the relatives (yeah, the lowercase is intentional) play lean, casual indie rock.  It’s not breaking any new ground, but they’ve got a way with a hook and their songs are tight and focused.  Their full length debut (released late last year) burns through 9 tracks in under half an hour, but there’s hardly an ounce of fat anywhere on the record.  They sound like a less detached Spoon, or maybe Dr. Dog without the retro fetish.

The video above is the opening track from Green Machinery, which you can stream and purchase through their Bandcamp page.
